
Developing a habit for anything requires the person developing the new habit to be conscious of what habits have already been established that are no longer desired. While also understanding if there is anything emotionally or environmentally that may trigger those unwanted habits. Then you need to start thinking about what obstacles or challenges you may face week to week that may hinder you from solidifying your new desired habit. These principles of consciousness and clairvoyance will set you up for success in establishing the right eating habits. Understanding you and already thinking through potential challenges and how you will overcome them will put you on a path for embedding the right eating habits hopefully for a lifetime.
It is also important to be vocal with the people you surround yourself with to make them aware of what you are trying to accomplish. Moreover, to make sure they are supportive to your new habit as well as understanding. Fortunately or unfortunately, the people you surround yourself with can make you or break you. Don't keep your intentions to yourself, look for your family and friends to help you along in this process.
Progress is seldom a linear path. You will have setbacks along the way, be cognizant of that it's just a setback and not failure. Do not think in terms of all or nothing. Try and use the setback to understand why it happened and how to get past it in the future.
Lastly, have a compelling reason to cultivate your new eating habit. Your probability of success increases exponentially when you are moving towards something good and beneficial, versus thinking in terms of refraining from or doing without. It's about what you're getting not what you're giving up. Keep that in mind along this process.
